Dear dharma friends
It is with heartfelt sorrow that I have been following the tragic developments ensuing from the massive earthquake that struck Nepal an the neighbouring countries this morning.
Over nine hundred people are dead, many more injured or still missing, and thousands have lost their homes and livelihoods.
My wishes and prayer are with all the victims of the disaster: the deceased, the injured and the bereaved alike.
I would request all of my students to join me in making wishes and praying for them, to make lamp offerings dedicated to their benefit, and especially to recite the six-syllable mantra of the Buddha of comassion, Avalokiteshvara, as much as possible.
With prayers,
Karmpa Trinley Thaye Dorje
