Dear friends of the dharma,
As you know, recently HH the 14th Shamarpa, holder of the Red Crown, Chökyi Lödro (1952-2014) has temporarily dissolved his nirmanakaya body into Dharmakaya.
His demise is like the sun setting into the distant eastern mountain. However, like all great bodhisattvas, HH Shamarpa will manifest his Nirmanakaya body again and again as long as sentient beings exist, for they have taken the firm commitment towards liberating sentient beings, Therefore in due time, H H Shamarpa will reappear his mindstream and manifestation of his supreme Nirmanakaya for the sake of all sentient beings and fulfil his grand aspirations. Every devotee is currently making prayers and practices in front of Kudung Rinpoche or elsewhere.
Kudung Rinpoche has arriverd in New Delhir India on 22 June early morning. Kudung is placed in the main shrine of Karmapa International Buddhist Society (KIBI). HH 17th Gyalwa Karmapa Trinley Thaye Dorje, along with the sangha, heads daily prayers. During the first week, Vajrasattva's practice are conducted in the morning, followed by Guru Yoga puja of Dagpo Kagyud's in the
afternoon.
The Kudung Rinpoche will be transported to Kalimpong, India on 1 July. There, Kudung will enshrine to the Shamarpa's Shri Diwakar Vihara Buddhist Research and Educational Institute that was established by the late Shamarpa. Rinpoches and sangha will conduct Vajrayogini puja for a week followed by the Five Deities Chakrasamvara practice as a form of offering to Kudung Rinpoche. While Kudung remain in Kalimpong, disciples from Bhutan, Sikkim and all over the world will continue to pay their respects.
On 14 July 2014, Kudung will be relocated to Kathmandu, Nepal. In Kathmandu, Kudung will remain in Shar Minub Monastery, the main seat of the late HH Shamarpa, for the final two weeks. During this period, assemblies of Rinpoches, lamas and sangha will conduct Red Avalokeshvara and subsequently Hevajra practice as offerings to Kudung.
31 July which coincides with the first turning of the dharma wheel by Buddha Shakyamuni, HH 17th Gyalwa Karmapa Trinley Thaye Dorje together with many high Rinpoche will lead and perform various Yidam practices, fire puja to commence a cremation ceremony, along with the assemblies of sangha.
In the late HH Sharmar Rinpoche's lifetime, it was his wish to build a Kudung stupa in the land of his own seat. Thus, a stupa will be constructed to contain the remains of the late Shamarpa.
To provide the opportunity for friends and disciples all over the world to pay their final respects to the late HH Shamarpa during these 49 days, this notice is circulated to inform all.
